Preemie and NICU Babies Resources

In spite of the best medical attention and most carefully monitored pregnancy, sometimes babies show up a little too early. These are resources available to Preemie and NICU babies to assist in times of need. These are not multiple-only resources, so singletons are welcome to apply for help as well!

Preemie Prints: "Preemie Prints is a non-profit organization sharing hope with families who have experienced a premature birth, critical birth, or infant loss in a NICU (neonatal intensive care unit). We do this through information, support, the gift of photography, handmade items, and prayer" To apply for their complimentary photography for Angel, NICU, or NICU Graduates, please go to their page to fill out the request form.

Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep: "Providing the gift of remembrance photography for parents suffering the loss of a baby." NILMDTS provides free photography services for families who would like to document their little one who passed away. Photography is available for babies as young as 25 weeks. The organization encourages those who are dealing with the loss of their baby to contact them to document their little one even if they aren't sure that they want the photos. They want everyone to have images of their little one in case they would like to see them in the future. They make every effort to send out a photographer quickly once they are contacted as they know that their isn't much time. They appreciate extra notice prior to birth if possible, but will still make every effort to accommodate parents post-birth.

Miracle Babies - This is a non-profit organization that supplies grants to individuals with children in the NICU. It is not specific to multiples, so anyone can apply for assistance. The goal is for the grant money to help with basic living expenses including: transportation, medical expenses, childcare for siblings, living expenses, and if necessary, funeral expenses. An application is available on the website and is easily filled out and submitted. The organization makes every effort to decide quickly on grant requests and get the money to families. While I don't have any personal experience with this organization, it's worth looking into.

These services may not have been personally experienced by our family. We can't vouch for the accuracy or information contained in linked sites. This information is provided simply as a resource and place to begin seeking assistance.
