The Babies are here

Caleb Sean Ishum made his grand entrance into this world at 4:11 PM CST at 14.5 inches 2 lbs 5 oz

Abigail Rose Ishum appeared shortly after her He-Man of a brother  at 4:12 PM CST 13.75 inches 2 lbs 5 oz

Elijah James Ishum knew Caleb was older but not taller and showed up at 4:13 PM CST at 14.5 in 2 lbs 3 oz

Elizabeth Grace Ishum is a petite princess but slightly taller than her sister arriving at 4:15 PM CST 14 in 1 lb 14 oz

Mother is doing fine but needs a week or so to recover.   The babies are healthier than expected but still need some time to develop their immune system.     Please hold off on phone calls for a few days while we recover.   Due to the nature of being in a NICU and the health risk that are associated, we would appreciate NO visitors.

Thank goodness, Alan told me to get to the hospital when Becca called.  If I would have listened to her, I would have missed their birth.  As it is, I only missed Elizabeth.  (yes I started to black out)

  4. Rebecca (and Sean),
Saw Michael's facebook post. Congratulations!! So happy everyone is doing well. I know we haven't seen each other since ballet class my last semester at Avila but I've been checking your blog occasionally and am really happy for you! Can't believe your little body held all those babies for that long!
    Sending good energy!

  6. I remain in prayer for each of your little children. Never have children been more surrounded by prayer and love. God is watching over every detail. Take one hour at a time for now, knowing how much all 6 of you are loved and lifted before the Throne of the Great Physician. Please kiss Becca for me. I am there "in spirit".

  8. Congratulations, we're glad everyone is doing well. Life as you know it has forever changed. We have some preemie clothes to give you. We know it'll be at least a couple weeks before they'll get to be able to wear them. If you have any questions about anything or need someone to talk to that understands everything just give us a shout. Make sure Rebecca takes it easy for the next week, she's really gonna need to rest and heal before doing too much. I know she'll be wanting to see them all the time and all.

  9. Wow, I don't blame you for blacking out! As amazing as it is to watch, it's definitely kind of gory. I am surprised my husband didn't black out watching our one son getting born via c-section-he said he had to look away at one point. Prayers to all of you!

  18. I just found your website yesterday and read through your entire incredible journey. God made it nearly impossible for me to get through the rest of my night without saying a prayer for you and your children *seemingly* every 15 minutes. You all were the last thing that I thought about before my head hit the pillow last night and you were the first thing I thought I about when I woke up this morning. Even on the drive into work this morning, I was praying--saying a special prayer for each one of your miracles. I can't wait to hear how everyone is doing, but in the mean time, my husband and I will continue to pray.

  19. Congratulations! God knew exactly what He was doing when He gifted those precious babies with such incredible parents. Enjoy the journey. Allen and I will never forget their birthdays because it was our 37th anniversary. Great things happened on February 23rd!

  23. Thank you, Sean for updating for us. We surely will be praying. What a blessed and overwhelmed family you are right now. Praying is the best any of us can do. So grateful that God is healing Becca and the wee ones are doing well. Thanks again. It's such a joy to get to pray for them.

  24. Congratulations on your beautiful babies! Welcome to the world of quadruplets! I will be praying for you as you begin the crazy roller coaster ride of the NICU. If you ever need anything, please contact me. The NICU time can be rough, and it's good to have other people to talk to that have experienced the same thing!

  25. Congratulations Ishum family! Praise God from whom all blessings flow! Please let us quad moms know if you need anything or have any questions! Definitely rest now....you will need it! Your body has gone through a lot and needs time to heal. Definitely limit visitors, especially during RSV season because this is a BAD year for all of us at home as well! One thing we did with our church during RSV season was leave an ice chest out front by our door for meals being delivered. We knew an approx time the food was coming so someone could check it, but it limited visitors wanting to come peak at the babies and bringing in any possible germs. Everyone was so understanding and it took a lot of stress off mommy with everything. We were so blessed by our church with diaper drives as well....Praying for you all-let us know if we can help or anything at all! Congrats!
