The Little Things Thursdays: #10

Welcome to The Little Things Thursdays! If you are new to the blog, I hope you will join us this week! The Little Things Thursday is all about stopping for a minute to find joy in the small things that happen during our week. Nothing is too insignificant!

1. Putting on Socks
Ellie has figured out how to put on socks all by herself. Her siblings don't like to leave their socks on, so she waits until there is an extra pair available and then pulls the extra socks on over her own socks. And then she panics because she has on so many socks, she can't get them back off. Oh, the trials of being a toddler!

2. Freezer Cooking
I managed to get some freezer cooking in this week. I cranked out a bunch of homemade hot pockets (recipe coming soon!) and breakfast sandwiches. They make super quick and easy meals! I like having items like that ready to go when we are short on time.

3. Lunch with My Dad
My dad texted me this week to see if I wanted to meet up with him for lunch. When I was in college, my dad was attending the same university working on his doctorate. We were "college buddies," so we went to lunch once a week between our classes. Since then, I've gotten married and had kids, and Dad works two jobs, so we don't often get to go out. I was thrilled to get his text! My mom came and stayed with the kids, while Dad and I met for lunch at RC's. RC's is an awesome chicken place in town, and I definitely enjoyed it. But the best part was getting a break from the kids and getting to hang out with my dad for awhile.

4. Another Nice Day!
Another beautiful day in winter? Uh...okay! We headed back outside to run around this week. The kids loved getting to play in the backyard a bit. Mommy loved the distraction too!

5. Snuggling with Caleb
I snapped this photo tonight while Caleb was curled up in my arms. Aw! So precious! He loves snuggling up in our arms every chance he gets. When he gets comfortable, he insists that we use our other arm to wrap around his middle so that he is completely locked in our arms. He likes to feel fully secure. I love that feeling of being needed and knowing that I can meet his needs in that moment.

  1. Oh the socks cracked me up! I can't imagine trying to wear FOUR pairs at the same time. Freezer meals are the best! I'm looking forward to seeing how you made hot pockets.
