The Little Things Thursdays: #32

Welcome to The Little Things Thursday!!

If you wondered why there wasn't a Little Things Thursday post last week, it's because I was just too tired after spending so much time in the fireworks tent. But, we are back on track this week! Thanks for bearing with me!

If you are new to our link-up, we like to take a minute to look back on the little things that brightened our week. So often we get busy and forget all of the things that we enjoy as we go through our daily lives. This is an opportunity to stop, remember, and enjoy those things! Nothing is too small...in fact, the smaller the better! That's the whole point! If you have a blog, link-up below. If you don't blog, I'd love for you to participate by leaving a comment. Ready?

1. Grocery Shopping
I successfully went grocery shopping with toddler quadruplets this week! Last time, I took backup and we each pushed a cart. This time, I went solo. I put all the kids in one cart and pushed them with one hand. Meanwhile, I used the other hand to pull the second cart containing our groceries behind me. Booyah! They did pretty well until we had to wait in line at the cash register. The bagger was the sweetest older guy who offered them fruit snacks when they got restless. He went out of his way to make it a good shopping experience for us...even helping me load the groceries in our minivan!

2. Clothes and Shoes
I've been trying to re-do my wardrobe this summer. For two years, I held out that eventually I would get back in my pre-pregnancy clothes. While I've managed to lose the weight, apparently tummies don't go back to how they once were after being stretched out. I've finally accepted that, so I'm working to find flattering clothes that work for my new shape. This week, a twin friend mom said that she was giving away some of her clothes and shoes to whoever wanted them. Guess what?? The clothes and shoes were exactly my size! What a blessing to have those passed on to me! A few of the shoes are above, but that photo doesn't even begin to cover all of the shoes and clothes that she gave me. Yay!

3. Sandals
Speaking of shoes, can I hear an "amen" about sandals for kids? Especially when they come equipped with velcro!

4. Silly Abby
So here's one I didn't consider ahead of time. Those thin little stick pretzels fit just perfectly in the straws in the kids' cups. While all of the kids discovered this at dinner tonight, Abby really embraced the project. Can you see that she repeatedly threaded her pretzels into the straw until it was completely full?

5. CSA Bag: Week 7
Lots of extra goodies this week! Sean boss was out of town this week, and kindly allowed us to pick up her bag for our family instead. The photo above includes both her bag and our bag. Exciting! Two watermelons, 12 peaches, 8 organic beef patties, 8 fresh hamburger buns, 2 dozen eggs, 4 onions, 2 green bell peppers, 4 zucchini, and 2 banana peppers! Hmm....any ideas on what to do with the banana peppers??

If you love posts that focus on the little wonderful things in life, and want to linkup with more blogs, make sure you check out my friend, Megan. She hosts Me Likey Mondays over on her blog! If you aren't a blogger, I still encourage you to take note of the little things in your life. I will literally turn your day around and help you to be grateful for all of the beautiful things that God allows you to experience!

    1. I was nervous, but we did it! (and I'm okay if I don't do it again for awhile...)

  3. Banana peppers are good on pizza or sandwhiches - really anything you would put a pepper on - they are milder then a jalapeno.

  4. An idea for your peppers...We love oven roasted veggies. Just cut up the zucchini, onions, and any type of peppers, spread on a non-stick spray coated cookie sheet, and then sprinkle with seasoning (salt, pepper, garlic powder and parmesan cheese are good). Then put in the oven at 450 until the edges of the veggies start to brown (I think around 30 minutes). Yum! (This is Marcia's sister-in-law from Texas - love your blog:-)

    1. Perfect! I have zucchini and onions, so I'll probably do exactly that with them. Thank you!

  5. Hi, I'm Bailey! I found your blog from That Friday Blog Hop. I can (somewhat) understand how chaotic it must be to have quads because I'm a triplet myself!
