The Little Things Thursdays: #34

Welcome to The Little Things Thursday!!

If you are new to our link-up, we like to take a minute to look back on the little things that brightened our week. So often we get busy and forget all of the things that we enjoy as we go through our daily lives. This is an opportunity to stop, remember, and enjoy those things! Nothing is too small...in fact, the smaller the better! That's the whole point! If you have a blog, link-up below. If you don't blog, I'd love for you to participate by leaving a comment. Ready?

1. Homemade Blackberry Cobbler
I made a cobbler for the first time this week. I've baked just about everything else from scratch, but I've never made a cobbler before. Wow, not only are they delicious, they are super easy and fast! I used blackberries that we got in our CSA bag last week and served it with vanilla ice cream. It was very sad when it was all gone only 24 hours later.

2. Cups in the Refrigerator
This Dora Kitchen that the kids got for their birthday has proven to have no end of entertainment for me. I've learned that if I can't find the kids' cups, I should probably check in the refrigerator. Because that's where cups go, right?

3. Toddler Hugs
This is one of my most favorite things ever. That moment when one of my toddlers wraps his/her little arms around my neck and gives me the biggest squeeze he/she can muster. While it doesn't erase the hairy days of having 2-year-olds, it certainly makes it worth it!

4. My New Storage Rack
My dad offered to build us some storage shelves a few months ago since we have completely run out of horizontal space in our small house. On Saturday, Dad and Mom came over and constructed this in our garage. SO HAPPY! It's like adding another room onto our house! I should have taken a "before" photo so you could see just how impossible our garage had become. He offered to build a couple more shelves and I am DEFINITELY taking him up on it as soon as he has time! I want to take all of the storage stuff in the garage and house and put it up on racks, then purge the extra stuff we don't need, and then sit back and take a deep breath as I realize I have room to breathe again. Honestly, the shelving unit doesn't fit well in "little" things Thursdays since it is such a BIG thing for my sanity!

Now it's your turn! What Little Things brightened up your week? Link up your post below (or leave a comment if you aren't a blogger) and make sure you come back next week to play again!

  3. LOVE those shelves. I think I need a set.

My kids have become notorious for stashing their sippies in strange places. The worst was Andy hiding in favorite blanket in the back of a kitchen cabinet. I took us days for figure out what he'd done with it.

  4. Of course they go in the frig! What cutie pies. Toddler hugs...I remember those so well. Now I get an armpit in the face from my 15 when he hugs me because he's that much taller than me and my 5 year old is so tall he head-butts me in the boobs. I'll still take all the hugs I can get though!
