The Little Things Thursdays: #35

Welcome to The Little Things Thursday!!

If you are new to our link-up, we like to take a minute to look back on the little things that brightened our week. So often we get busy and forget all of the things that we enjoy as we go through our daily lives. This is an opportunity to stop, remember, and enjoy those things! Nothing is too small...in fact, the smaller the better! That's the whole point! If you have a blog, link-up below. If you don't blog, I'd love for you to participate by leaving a comment. Ready?

1. Abby likes Hummus
Miracle of miracles, Abby actually ate something with protein in it this week! On Tuesday, I made her a grilled cheese sandwich, but she kept eyeing my hummus. Since she wasn't eating her sandwich anyway (big surprise there), I decided to see what she thought of my lunch. Keeping in mind that she doesn't like beans, I only gave her a small taste, and she loved it! So I gave her a scoop of hummus and some pita chips and she devoured that. So I gave her seconds, and she devoured that too. I think I finally found something else to feed this child for lunch besides PB&J!

2. Zevia
Last weekend, I went to a blogging conference. Before it started, I was tweeting some of the sponsors, and Zevia Soda was on the list. They clicked over to my twitter account, saw that I have quads, and sent me a little pick-me-up...just because! There were no strings attached and nothing I had to do in return. They just wanted to encourage me a bit in my motherhood journey. Wow, how cool is this company to do something like that?!

3. Red and Gold Tinkerbell Necklace
One of my readers (who also happens to be a friend) made the sweetest gesture! She had read the post about my black dress and red shoes and how I couldn't find a red necklace to go with it. She found this little red and gold Tinkerbell, and thought of me! Since she knew that I love red, and I love Disney (seriously, who doesn't?!), she picked it up for me. So thoughtful!

4. Children's Miracle Network Day at Dairy Queen
Today was Children's Miracle Network Day at Dairy Queen. We love Dairy Queen, and we think the Children's Miracle Network does some great work. Sean said he was picking up blizzards on the way home from work tonight. Win-Win! I got my favorite blizzard, and the Children's Miracle Network got one dollar from every blizzard purchased.

5. Rain
I love the rain! In spite of the fact that it drives every single ant in our entire neighborhood into the kitchen, rainy days are my favorite! They always strike me as comfy and cozy, and make for the best naps!

6. CSA: Week 10
Big day at the CSA! This week we got: 1 green cabbage, 1 loaf of Farm to Market Bread, 1 jar of local honey, 3 zucchini, 1 watermelon, 1/2 gallon of milk, 1 pound of green beans, 2 banana peppers, 6 pounds of peaches, 1 pound of ground bison, 2 pounds of potatoes, and 4 cucumbers. Fun! Okay, now what do I do with ground bison meat? I've never cooked with bison before...
