The Little Things Thursdays: #54

Welcome to The Little Things Thursday!!

If you are new to our link-up, we like to take a minute to look back on the little things that brightened our week. So often we get busy and forget all of the things that we enjoy as we go through our daily lives. This is an opportunity to stop, remember, and enjoy those things! Nothing is too small...in fact, the smaller the better! That's the whole point! If you have a blog, link-up below. If you don't blog, I'd love for you to participate by leaving a comment. Ready?

1. The Quad Squad
Abby, Caleb, Ellie, and Elijah
It's the first Little Things Thursday of the new year, and I can't help but start it off with a photo of my cuties! I snapped this last month and already put it in a different post, but hopefully you will forgive me for posting it again. On a side note, my little preemie quads will be THREE in only six weeks. How in the world did that happen?!?!

2. Caleb Said Something!!
This is SO exciting! When it happened, I immediately thought of you all and how much fun it would be to share it with you!

Caleb said his first full sentence!!

With his severe speech delays, this was a major, major milestone! So what did he say? Well, every day at nap time, we go over the three rules: 1. No talking. 2. No jumping. 3. Stay in your bed. When I got to the third rule, I heard a little voice pipe up before I had a chance to say it. Because our kids all share a room, I actually thought it was Elijah. So I started over with the rules and went through them again. When I got to three, I looked right at Caleb, and sure enough, he said rule three before I did!

It may seem like a teeny tiny thing, but in our lives, with all of the therapy that we've had, this was like a gift straight to this Mama's heart!

And yes, I totally texted his therapist right away to share the good news!

3. Random Sign
Random? Yes. Funny? Goodness, I hope I'm not the only one who thinks this is silly. I saw this sign on an office building somewhere in North Kansas City. Peoples Office Building. As opposed to...a Dog's Office Building? Or a Zombie's Office Building? Great, now I feel all self-conscious about being the only one giggling...I guess it was funnier in my head.

4. Abby and Her Chips
We have started a new tradition! It's no secret that Abby loves her junk food...especially chips! The kids' Gpa and Tooma (Sean's grandparents) have a Christmas get together every year. I snapped the photo on the left a year ago. And then I snapped the photo on the right last month. It's true: Abby's great aunt and great uncle brought chips just for her. Thankfully, she didn't disappoint, and pulled up a chair within minutes of arriving. Lol!

5. Bath Time
Our kiddos love bath time! Last week, we were getting ready for bath time, and Sean brought the boys into our room for the first rotation. Caleb was so excited that he ran and jumped in the bathtub right away. He only forgot two small things: 1. He was still fully dressed. 2. There was no water in the tub. He was a little sad when we dragged him back out in order to finish getting everything ready. Lol! Now if only they were this cooperative during bedtime...

Now it's your turn! What Little Things brightened up your week? Link up your post below (or leave a comment if you aren't a blogger) and make sure you come back next week to play again!

  1. LOL @ a building for the undead. That really IS funny. I love how you document these moments. I'm terrible about remembering the funny stuff. And I'm right there with Abby. Give me a big old bowl of chips anytime!
