And then there were 5!

Once upon a time, we had quadruplets....
Ellie, Elijah, Caleb, and Abby

And then life took a crazy turn that we didn't see coming....
Caleb, Ellie, Abby, Elijah...and an extra pair of shoes??

For the last five years, we have been steadily working on improving our health. Taking toxins out, using natural solutions to help support our bodies, eating better food, working out...kind of a lifestyle overhaul for the better.

In fact, by the end of 2018, I was in the best health of my life. That's a pretty big statement for someone with my health issues to say...but I was proud of how far I'd come!

Sooo...I guess all of that "getting healthy" stuff has a side effect that we didn't anticipate. It seems that in the process of working to straighten out all of my other issues, we've also managed to straighten out my screwed up hormonal system because....

We have a surprise caboose baby on the way!
Caleb, Ellie, Abby, and Elijah

Yep! It's been a little bit of a shock! haha! But our kids are getting excited! It was the cherry on top that they were unanimously rooting for a girl, and we found out that they are getting their wish. Abby has been asking for a "sister baby" for years now, so we are thrilled to make her dreams come true.

So come mid-September, you'll start to see us carting around a baby seat, diaper bag, and stroller again!

The following is a Q&A for your enjoyment:

Q: Were you trying for another kid?!
A: Please see above where we said this is a SURPRISE caboose baby.

Q: How old will your quadruplets be when the 5th kid shows up?
A: 8.5-years-old. Crazy, I know.

Q: Did you have any help conceiving this one?
A: Didn't your mother ever tell you that it's rude to ask someone else about their reproductive system?  No worries though. I've answered this one enough over the last 8 years, that I'm a pro at not blushing now. Nope. This one was a surprise.

Q: Are you planning on having more kids?
A: Let me put it this way. I enjoy pregnancy about as much as I enjoy eating calamari. (If you don't know, I hate calamari.) This little one officially completes our family!

Q: Are you sure there is only one baby in there?
A: Yes! Positive!

Q: But are you SURE sure there is only one baby in there??
A: I don't blame you for asking twice. I've asked every time I've been to the doctor. I've been assured by the ultrasonographer and twice by my midwife, that there is only one in there this time. I'm holding them to that promise.
