They may have come in a set of four, but they have COMPLETELY different personalities! We hope you enjoy meeting our kids!

Caleb Sean
Born at 2 lbs, 5 oz.
Caleb is our precious first born son. He has always been our
quietest and most shy child. He really prefers to stay home away from the rough
and tumble world out there. When we do go out, he doesn’t like to leave Daddy
and Mommy’s side…just in case…
Everything changes when he is safely at home though. He
used to hang in the corner by himself and not really get involved with his
siblings. He is now rambunctious and wants to be in the middle of the
excitement. I was so worried about his reluctance initially, so I'm super
happy to see him joining the group.
Even though he’s quiet, he is certainly a ham! He has a
precious smile that lights up his face and he loves his siblings so much. Like
a good older brother, he looks out for them and tries to make sure that they
are safe. If someone gets hurt, he is the first kid to call for mom and dad to
come fix it.
He is also a bottomless pit. It never ceases to surprise
me how much food this kid can put away in a sitting. We are in major trouble
when he hits his teenage years!

Born at 2 lbs, 5 oz.
Abby is our second baby. She is our first
crawler, first baby to get a tooth, first baby to sit up....and was our last
baby off of oxygen. She's a dainty little thing that has often been compared to
a porcelain doll, but she is anything but that! Given the
opportunity, I'm sure she would climb straight up to the roof. I can hardly
keep both of her feet on the ground! This little girl definitely knows what she wants and will plow
straight over any sibling who stands in between her and her toy. The shortest
distance between two points is a straight line, right?
Abby struggled the most in the hospital and at
home with breathing on her own and eating. After nine months of some type of
breathing assistance, she finally gave up her oxygen tank and is now equipment
free!
Abby
loves people! She is a flirt and always has been (Daddy needs to prepare
himself!). We are pretty sure that Larry the Cucumber is her current crush.
Haha! She prefers to play on her own, but interacts well with her siblings. She
has no fear of new people or new places and takes off for the toys without
saying goodbye to Mommy and Daddy when she goes to the church nursery to play (when
it's not winter).
Abby still struggles with eating
difficulties. She came out of the womb with them and it is something that we
constantly work on. Her weight is always an issue as she just doesn’t
like to eat much. In fact, she thinks eating is optional.

Elijah James
Born at 2 lbs, 3 oz.
Elijah
is a huge snuggler. He loves people, loves laughing, loves making people laugh,
loves helping...just generally loves being in the middle of everything and
pleasing his parents, siblings, and therapists. He is always ready with a smile
and patiently waits his turn without complaining.
One
of the best parts of Elijah's personality is his sweet, sensitive heart. He
visibly worries about his siblings when they are upset and rushes to comfort
them with their loveys. He can run into a wall and not even notice, but if he
feels like someone has slighted him, his feelings are incredibly hurt.
Even though he doesn’t have any words
yet, he has developed a stand-up comedy routine and keeps Daddy, Mommy,
and siblings in stitches all of the time. Now if we could just get him to use
words instead of babbling so that we can understand what he is saying...
He is also the other half of the “bottomless pit
gang.” Like I said, those teenage years are going to be rough on the wallet!

Elizabeth Grace
Born at 1 lb, 14 oz.
Ellie is the runt of the group and an absolute
firecracker! She has fought hard for everything from the moment she was
conceived to today. Her spunky personality easily dominates the other kids as
she lets the world know that she is here.
Ellie
can't get enough of people! It seems that every person that she meets is her
new best friend. She hasn't met a stranger, which is somewhat concerning from a
safety point of view, but ultimately so adorable!
She is such a sweet, helpful little
girl! She is all about pleasing others. She sees things that need to be
done and fixes them herself: wipes up spilled milk with her stuffed animals,
takes favorite loveys to siblings who are sad, finds little pieces of paper or
trash that other siblings would eat and brings them straight to me, etc. And
she’s very proud of herself for being so on top of it too!
Physically, Ellie has developed far beyond what we hoped. There
was a time when we thought she might have severe physical limitations, but she
is running and playing along with the other kids these days. When she was in
the hospital, we were told that because of the cysts on her brain, she was a
very good candidate for cerebral palsy. She also had severely bowed legs and
feet and we weren't sure how much work it would take for her to walk. We were
prepared for boots, casting, extensive therapy, and the idea that she
might not walk for a long time, or possibly at all. All that to say, Ellie has
overcome every hurdle by the grace of God! Ellie was our second baby who
learned how to walk toward the end of May 2012. God is so good!
