The 10 Best, EASY Fall Activities and Crafts for Preschoolers + $2000 Giveaway!

Sometimes, you just need a quick and easy craft to keep your kids occupied. I know I do! I love having a list of activities and crafts that we can do with minimal set-up and minimal clean-up. The kind where you can start the project while you are cooking dinner, and be finished with it by the time dinner is on the table.

Today, I have a list of 10 of the best, easy fall activities and crafts for preschoolers. Get ready, because these are all posts that you are going to want to pin so that you don't have to hunt around for them in the future


1. Thanksgiving Turkey Craft
The photo may say it's for toddlers, but this is a great craft for preschoolers too! All you need is a paper plate, a toilet paper tube, and some glue. I like to let my kids color their creations as we go, so you can grab crayons as well. We had fun hanging these on the front door as our fall decorations!

2. Leaf Identification Cards + Free Printable!
I love this idea to go on a hunt outside for all of the different leaves that your kids can find. Then you bring them back home, and match the real leaves to the leaves pictured on the printable cards. What a great way to get outside and learn at the same time. Plus, this blogger has a set of 30 printable leaf cards to use during the activity...and they are free!










3. Paper Pumpkin Craft Tutorial
I love the way this pumpkin looks and that there is no need to break out the glue to create it! Paper, scissors, a ruler, and a stapler. That's all you need. It's a quick project that little ones can help with, and then proudly display to welcome the fall weather.







4. Mr. Apple Head
Sometimes, just slightly changing up a toy can make it brand new! Mr. Potato Head toys are so popular, but what if you used an apple as the body? It's an easy way to keep little ones occupied while you are doing meal prep, and then of course at the end, you can slice up the apple for a side dish. No waste!







5. Scrunched Tissue Paper Autumn Leaf
I can't be the only parent whose kids like to crumble paper or tissue or anything else they can find. This is a great redirect for those scrunchy days. A quick leaf, a stack of tissue paper, and a bottle of glue, and kids are ready to scrunch away and make their own colorful autumn leaf!

6. Easy Fall Leaf Garland
Bring the outside...inside! This is a great activity that you can do after you find leaves to match on the Leaf Identification Cards. Instead of throwing the leaves back outside, put them on a string and decorate a window.

7. Palm Print Pumpkins
Okay, so this one is a little more messy because it involves paint, but the set-up and the clean-up are really quick! Jump over to this tutorial for how to make a pumpkin patch under a harvest moon!

8. 10 Fall Playdough Mats + Free Printables!
Kids and playdough just go together. I love these mats that prompt kids to finish the picture with playdough or get creative with how they decorate them. And the fall theme is perfect for this time of year!

Have you read the 5 Little Turkeys book? This is the perfect companion craft for it! I love the simplicity of this craft and the focus on gluing and placing turkey eyes and beaks where they need to go. I think these little turkeys are just adorable!

Father's Day Photo Frame Craft for Preschoolers

All these awesome bloggers have it together and post things like Father's Day crafts a couple of weeks in advance. I guess I might be cutting it close, but HEY! I remembered that Father's Day is coming up, right?

In case you are still trying to come up with something for your kids to give to their Daddy, this craft is easy, fast, and very, very inexpensive. It's perfect for little kids who want to be independent but still need a little guidance.

All you need is a photo of each kid and the following:

• Those are WASHABLE markers, in case you were wondering. They are well worth the price vs. the regular markers. Don't worry, Elijah will demonstrate why we don't have any regular markers at the end of this post.

• The wooden magnetic photo frames were found in the Dollar Spot at Target. $4 for four frames. The Dollar Spot always has fun items in it.

The kids work a lot with washable markers at school, but this was our first time using them at home. We usually stick with crayons, but I thought we'd branch out for this craft.

So...does anyone know how to get your boys to NOT eat the markers? *sigh*

Caleb even participated in this craft! Normally he loses interest in about 60 seconds,but he worked on this one for awhile!

Abby loves butterflies! She was so thrilled to find out that she got to decorate one! I'm wondering if she will be mad when she finds out that she doesn't get to keep it?

Ellie kept talking about how she was going to give her flower to Daddy. I know she will be thrilled to hand it to him on Sunday!

So proud of her pretty butterfly!

However, half of the coloring ended up on faces and hands. My boys are so goofy! They still lick everything, and it drives me crazy!

Meanwhile, this was going on on the other side of the room...

Abby: Look, Mom!

We decided to call it quits at that point. The markers were starting to travel around the living room, and I was envisioning all sorts of masterpieces in places where they shouldn't be. The kids had fun though, and I think everyone (and hopefully, Abby too) will enjoy giving their gifts on Sunday!

After the kids went to bed tonight, I finished putting the craft together. This part involved scissors, so I thought maybe I'd assist with it while it was quiet.

I ran photos off at CVS with two kids on each 4x6. That ended up being the perfect size to center their faces in the frame. A quick trace and cut, and they fit right into place.

I highly recommend looking for the magnetic frames so that they can be displayed in different spots. I got mine at Target, but I've seen them at the dollar store too. I imagine Hobby Lobby and Michael's has them as well. If you can't find the wooden frames with magnets on the back, you can buy little magnets to attach. It's still an inexpensive craft!

We made the wooden photo frames for Daddy to display in his cube at work. He has a metal closet-ish thing by his desk and cabinets over his work area. I think they could use some cute little faces on them! We tend to head up to Sean's office to visit every few months, so I'm sure the kids will have fun seeing their faces and creations the next time that we are up there! 

And hopefully they will remind him how much he is loved and appreciated all year round!
