We feel so loved and overwhelmed by the generosity of people. Within 24 hours of the last post, our house was organized, the babies’ room was cleaned out, and Swiper had been offered a new home. God is so good. I’m kind of uncomfortable giving shoutouts in such a public forum as this, because I never know if people want their good deeds to remain anonymous or don’t like having their names all over the internet. However, we do want them to know how truly amazed and grateful we are that they stepped in so quickly to help take some the overwhelmed feelings we were both having off of our shoulders.
What is next for us? This weekend, we hope to set up the baby cribs and register. I am also doing laundry (not really connected to baby stuff but thought I would throw it out there for levity). In the coming weeks, we will take Swiper to his new home, go to more doctors appointments and intensify the search for a new vehicle. The new vehicle will probably take up the majority of my energy in the month of December. Please pray heavily for this. Since Becca’s income will disappear in the coming weeks, I do not wish to overtax our expenses by taking on a car payment. This means we will need to buy a relatively cheap vehicle. Realistically, I’m looking at $3 grand to spend. I have been told by a lot of people that this is a pipe dream but God has provided for us so far. We have seen some deals on Craigslist but have not had the time to investigate them. If you know something about cars and want to help us out by keeping an eye out for a good deal on a vehicle that will fit two adults, four car seats and two double strollers, we would definitely appreciate it.
Side note: Becca just distracted me from my blog writing with a computer question and now I’m laughing hysterically! I love the prego questions she throws my way.
Got to get moving on those cribs. I will tell you that Becca has done a better job of resting since the last update. She is quite cute. I love being married to her. Becca will post an update in the next day or two about how wonderful our bathroom is now and how grateful she for all of the additional help and love that has come our way. Thanks again to everyone who has helped us out so far. May God’s Love be with you always.

Just FYI - a 3 grand vehicle is certainly not a pipe dream. We got a decent, safe vehicle (95 Honda Odessy) for $1500 off of craigslist. have had it almost a year and no real problems with it yet. Nice thing about Hondas is that they are easy to fix, and down south they aren't going to have the rust damage they usually have up here (because of all of the road salt).
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad to hear you are getting the help you need. I so wish I lived closer so that I could help out myself, but it's heartening to know you are being taken care of. :-) You are all in my prayers!
I don't think it is a pipe dream at all. I know that several years ago, Darrel and I went to trade in our minivan for a new car. They only offered us a thousand dollars trade. We decided to give the van to our babysitter instead. She managed to get over 8 years of use out of it. She babysat the kids for free for a year. So you see, there are many different opportunities out there. Maybe someone is getting rid of their minivan and faces the same situation.
