I've been meaning to post some photos from their Family Birthday Party for...oh, about two weeks now. I'm finally getting to it!
We threw the kids a little party the Saturday after their birthday. We wanted to include more people, but had to keep it to immediate family only due to their lack of immune systems. We still think it turned out to be quite a bit of fun!
Quad Birthday!
We needed lots of help juggling everyone, so the grandmas stepped in to help.
Sean's mom had Ellie, Sean had Elijah, I had Abby, and my Mom had Caleb.
The Grandmas!
I love this photo of our whole family because it is our first decent candid photo. All of our other family photos are posed.
The Big Birthday Cake for our quadruplets! This was so fun to make! It is the first two-layered fondant cake that I've done since the babies were born. I used to do a lot of baking...now I'm a bit distracted. :) Their names wrap around the top layer. You can see "Ellie" and part of "Caleb" in the photo below.
Bring on the SUGAR!
Experiencing all that is cake!
Turns out, it's not too bad!
Too fun! We had a blast, and by far the best part was watching the kids dig into their cakes. If you want to see them enjoying their first birthday cakes, we uploaded a video to YouTube. :-)
Thank you for all of the happy birthday wishes that you sent their way! It was such a blessing to get to celebrate a first birthday with all four of them!
LOVED the video of them with their cake. The boys were doing very well but Abby was the best - she really chowed down. The pictures are just too cute. What a great first birthday!
ReplyDeleteCute cakes aaannd cute kiddos! Glad to hear the celebration went well :)
ReplyDeleteOkay, I have to ask...how do you do it?!?! I see women struggle to take care of one baby; it seems as if you seamlessly take care of 4! You take care of yourself, you look great, you don't seemed stressed, and you always seem so in control! I definitely think the Lord knew what he was doing when he gave you four babies!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the kind words, but I really don't have it all together. :) I don't put up the photos of me without make-up in my sweatpants, or the meltdowns that I have on occasion from exhaustion. I'm stressed out a lot, but learning that "my way" is not the only way. It's definitely a stretch for me to do this, and anything that actually gets done is only by the grace of God!
