The Little Things Thursdays: #15

Welcome to The Little Things Thursday!!

If you are new to our link-up, we like to take a minute to look back on the little things that brightened our week. So often we get busy and forget all of the things that we enjoy as we go through our daily lives. This is an opportunity to stop, remember, and enjoy those things! Nothing is too small...in fact, the smaller the better! That's the whole point! If you have a blog, link-up below. If you don't blog, I'd love for you to participate by leaving a comment. Ready?

1. Coupon for Free Starbucks Coffee
Coupon for Starbucks Coffee
I don't know where he found them, but my father-in-law got his hands on a couple of coupons for free coffee at Starbucks and then gave them to me. I very gratefully redeemed one last Sunday while suffering from the time change. It helped make "springing forward" a little easier.

2. Family Photos
Debra from Abundant Moments Photography did some awesome photos of our family in January. She surprised us with the gift of this giant canvas that includes all of our favorites from the session. I still can't believe there is a photo of all six of us smiling! Love, love, love!

3. Taking Care of Little Sister
Maybe she was concerned that Ellie would be bored, but Abby decided to load Ellie up with toys while she was sitting on the couch. They just kept coming, and coming, and coming...hilarious and precious at the same time! (Also note the look on Ellie's face! Ha!)

4. Mason Jar-Style Summer Cups
I saw these on my weekly shopping trip to Walmart. Aren't they adorable? I love them! They made me want to go have a picnic. Although I didn't buy any ($5 for a cup?!), it does make me want to figure out how to fashion my own using regular mason jars.

5. The Homemade Giant Kleenex Box
Just an FYI, it doesn't matter if both boxes of tissue are brand new and unopened. Four toddlers can put their heads together and figure out how to get into them. Because really, nothing is more fun than emptying Kleenex boxes by pulling the tissues out one-by-one and then running around the living room with them. *sigh* I couldn't just throw away all of those tissues, so now we are blowing our nose out of this cardboard box. Thanks, kids!

6. Table-Top Resting
I think the question to ask here is, "Why not?"

Now it's your turn! What Little Things brightened up your week? Link up your post below (or leave a comment if you aren't a blogger) and make sure you come back next week to play again!

  2. The tissue box is hilarious! Have they figured out how to grab the end of the toilet tissue roll and run down the hallway, stringing the tissue behind? (That was one of my favorite tricks, or so I'm told!)

    1. I know, right? Now I just have to keep them from getting into this one and pulling all of the tissues out...again.

  5. Being with my MOPS group of christian women, thinking we finally found a church that even though isn't catholic, is wonderful and to see the joy in our children's eyes when we tell them it's time for Church School, having an amazing husband who isn't afraid to do what's best for my health and my spirit to kick out any negativity that could hurt me.

  6. Hi Rebecca, I stumbled across you blog and even though I don't know you or your family, I'm loving watching these great kids grow up with such awesome parents!

The reason for my comment was about the mason jars you saw at WalMart, I had and idea on who you could make those at home! If you already have canning rings and lids from plastic containers like yogurt, sour cream, cottage cheese, etc. you're almost there! Just cut a circle out of the plastic lid using a utility knife and cut an x in the center for the straw to go through, just like a plastic lid for a soda cup. Screw the ring on over the plastic and pop in a straw! Not perfectly spill proof, but pretty close!

    1. Aw, thanks for reading and leaving a comment, Laura! I love hearing from my readers (and knowing that I'm not talking to myself. Lol!)

That's an excellent idea about the mason jar cups! I definitely need to make sure that a lid is included, and your idea just might be the solution I"m looking for!
