The Little Things Thursdays: #18

Welcome to The Little Things Thursday!!

If you are new to our link-up, we like to take a minute to look back on the little things that brightened our week. So often we get busy and forget all of the things that we enjoy as we go through our daily lives. This is an opportunity to stop, remember, and enjoy those things! Nothing is too small...in fact, the smaller the better! That's the whole point! If you have a blog, link-up below. If you don't blog, I'd love for you to participate by leaving a comment. Ready?

1. Kid-Sized Broom
Elijah loves helping us sweep up after meals. It's just not as helpful as it could be when he is trying to grab the broom and walk through the dust pile while we are cleaning. I finally stopped by Lowe's last weekend, and found a small broom that is just slightly taller than he is. Now, whenever he sees us start sweeping up, he runs for his broom so that he can sweep too. He's very proud of being able to help us!

2. Sean's Birthday Dinner...Finally!
Sean's birthday was last month, but we are always so busy in March that it sometimes gets put off for awhile. We finally had a chance to celebrate it tonight with a big meal of barbecue pork chops, mashed potatoes, asparagus, biscuits, and carrot cake. We were very excited that Sean's parents were able to join us for his belated birthday celebration!

3. Anchored Shelves
Remember when I completely overhauled my pantry? I still hadn't anchored these shelving units yet although our bookshelves have been anchored for over a year. I've been trying to figure out how to anchor these since  there is nothing to connect an anchor to. I finally asked my dad what he would recommend (should have done that long ago!) over Easter weekend, and he came over on Tuesday with a bit of scrap wood and some screws. He made his own anchors, and now even I can hang off the front of these, and they won't move. Mommy is sleeping better at night now!

4. Pretty Toes
It doesn't happen often, but I stopped long enough to paint my toes this week. I found this bottle of nail polish on clearance for $1.00 at Walmart. It's definitely not my usual color as I'm more of a neutral girl, but I figured with a $1.00 price tag, it might be a nice change of pace. It turns out that I really like this color on my toes! And then, of course, I had to paint some little flowers on them for some extra umph! I want to be ready when the sandals come back out of the closet!

Now it's your turn! What Little Things brightened up your week? Link up your post below (or leave a comment if you aren't a blogger) and make sure you come back next week to play again!

  1. I really like that nail color (for toes at least) too! I find that getting polish on my toes is a bit tricky these days too. I actually went to the salon a few weeks ago and got one of those gel paint jobs. Still looks good two weeks later. We shall see if it holds up any more.
