My mom is one of my heroes, so I'm going to brag on her for just a minute! She has given birth to and raised six kids. I'm the oldest of the clan, so I've had plenty of time to watch how she has raised my younger sister and brothers. She has the patience of a saint! If that isn't impressive enough, she gave up a career and decided to stay home to homeschool us. That was back when homeschooling fell in the very uncool and strange fringe movement category. Her continuous sacrifice and determination to see us succeed is a huge inspiration to me as I try to be the best mom I can to my quadruplets. I've never doubted my mom's love for me, and I hope that my kids will be able to say the same thing about me one day. I am so very blessed to have been given my mom!
In the spirit of mother's day, make sure to leave your mom's best advice she ever gave you (about anything!) in the comments below!
You can enter this giveaway through Rafflecopter now through Sunday, May 12th on any of the participating blogs. Good luck and Happy Mother's Day to all your mamas!

ReplyDeleteMy Mom always tells me to do what I know in my heart is right. Of course, sometimes that's easier said than done, but I find that when I follow this advice, it yields the best results.

ReplyDeleteMy mom has given me so much great advice and taught me so many things, it's hard to pick just one! The main thing that sticks out is her modeling how to be a great mom like she has always been to me and my two sisters. I was always sure of her unconditional love and she always took the time to play with us, read to us, cook with us, come to our endless art shows, game shows, magic shows, etc. She taught me to be creative and to love books and games and so much more!
ReplyDeleteMy mom let me know when I was 20 that I didn't have to go down the path I thought everyone wanted for me. I could take my own path and feel good about it. :)
ReplyDeleteMy mom always told us to take responsibility for our own actions. She told us that when we were too young to understand and by the time we were teenagers/adults it was ingrained in us!
ReplyDeleteMom always told me "garbage in, garbage out." Meaning I should spend my time doing good things, watching good things, being with good people, etc. This way, the good will come out of me.

ReplyDeleteMy Mom gives the best advice. And USUALLY only when I want it. ;) But the best thing she ever told me was to be their parent, and not their friend. If you parent during the first 18 years, then the friend part automatically follows.
ReplyDeleteMy Mom never necessarily "told" me how to be thrifty, but I think I inherited it. I know how to dress well - while not breaking the bank. I'm a bargain shopper thanks to her!
ReplyDeleteMy mom told me that she always feels at home in church. That has stuck with me.
ReplyDeleteMy mother always told me to ask for deep discounts when you find items with tiny flaws on them. She is the master of getting discounts. She does it honestly though.
