The Little Things Thursdays: #27

Welcome to The Little Things Thursday!!

If you are new to our link-up, we like to take a minute to look back on the little things that brightened our week. So often we get busy and forget all of the things that we enjoy as we go through our daily lives. This is an opportunity to stop, remember, and enjoy those things! Nothing is too small...in fact, the smaller the better! That's the whole point! If you have a blog, link-up below. If you don't blog, I'd love for you to participate by leaving a comment. Ready?

1. New Play Kitchen
One of my good friends, Amy, brought over a play kitchen for the kids this week! She has kids very close to our kids' age, and they love their kitchen, so she found a good deal on one and picked it up for our kids as a second birthday present. They love it! And I love it because it keeps them occupied so I can get a few things done. Plus, it's really entertaining, because now Caleb and Elijah walk around with bowls and spoons and pretend to be eating all of the time. They are really getting into it!

2. Spaghetti Head
I was looking through some old photos this afternoon and came across this one of Elijah. I took it after a very interactive spaghetti dinner last June. I wish I could say that he has learned how to eat pasta, but I seriously could have taken this same photo today. Ha! A photo like this deserves a caption! Head over to our FaceBook page and leave your best one. There are already some hilarious captions over there that practically have me rolling on the ground! The best one will appear on the blog!

3. First CSA Bag of the Season
Our CSA has officially started! If you aren't familiar with them, CSA stands for Community Supported Agriculture. The short version of it is that you buy a farm share and then get fresh produce straight from the farm during the season. They typically run from May through September or so (although ours started a little late due to all of the rain). This is one of my very favorite parts of summer! Our first bag came today and had a cookbook with recipes to cook in season, cherry tomatoes, brown eggs, honey straws, sourdough bread, pickled beets, two English cucumbers, 1 pound of ground beef, baby bok choy, and 1 pound of cheese. Most of the items are organic, which is an extra plus, and everything is from farms that are local to where we live. Delicious!

Now it's your turn! What Little Things brightened up your week? Link up your post below (or leave a comment if you aren't a blogger) and make sure you come back next week to play again!

  1. Spaghetti head is hilarious! So funny you posted about the quads loving their kitchen because our babies have a little kitchen that keeps all four busy too! LOVE it. Local food coops are really neat. We tried one in our area a few years ago, but stopped because we never ended up with the right quantities of stuff, or didn't enjoy everything we got. However, we did enjoy food from our own garden this week!
