Our Meal Plan: 7/14-7/20

If you are looking for some of the strategies that help us decide what to eat every week, make sure you check out our Meal Tip Series!

This week, I'm working through some items in our refrigerator and freezer. Other than some chicken, bell peppers, and some lunch items for the kids, most of what we are eating this week are things we already have.

Sunday: Stuffed Pizza from Papa Murphys (I don't cook on Sunday nights)
Monday: Lasagna, Salad, Multi-Grain Bread with Honey
Tuesday: French Toast, Bacon Cheddar Veggie Scramble, Yogurt
Wednesday:  Leftover Lasagna, Sauted Garlic Green Beans, Pretzel Rolls
Thursday: Chicken Fajitas with Roasted Bell Peppers
Friday: Hamburgers, Sweet Corn on the Cob, French Fries
Saturday: Chicken Pot Pie

What is on your menu this week?

  1. I keep saying I need to make a menu but I still have yet to do one. I usually just wing it by looking in my freezer the day before and choosing what I want to eat. Lasagna sounds really good but takes so long to prepare that I don't even do it anymore. I do Ziti instead. Great menu though!

    1. Oh man, I hear you on lasagna! I use the "ready for the oven" lasagna noodles. Those cut a TON of time off of making the dish! They cook up exactly the same and everything is a lot easier. You should definitely check into those if you haven't already!

  2. It's great to have a menu plan. I always make mine in my head, based on the veggies I buy, so I like how organized you are!

    1. I used to do that, but then I'd forget what I decided on! I get a little less frustrated this way. :)

    1. They came in our CSA bag. I have no idea how to make them, although I'd like to learn.

  5. I love that you reserve Sunday for no cooking :) I'd also love to see your chicken pot pie recipe! It's a favorite of my hubby's. I like the breakfast-for-dinner night too.

    1. I'll have to write down how I make it. I have a tendency to make detours when faced with a recipe. ;)

  6. Every time you do one of these, I kick myself in the butt for not planning. lol

    1. I do it to maintain my sanity! (and so that I don't call my hubby and beg for take-out!)

  7. I just this weekend went back to preplanning and wrote about it. I bet in your family that is especially valuable! Thanks for sharing a piece of your family. Three nights in a row I have known what to make for dinner, that alone is worth the effort :)

    1. I hate the actual planning part, but it definitely reduces my stress during the week.
