The Little Things Thursdays: #31

Welcome to The Little Things Thursday!!

If you wondered why there wasn't a Little Things Thursday post last week, it's because I was just too tired after spending so much time in the fireworks tent. But, we are back on track this week! Thanks for bearing with me!

If you are new to our link-up, we like to take a minute to look back on the little things that brightened our week. So often we get busy and forget all of the things that we enjoy as we go through our daily lives. This is an opportunity to stop, remember, and enjoy those things! Nothing is too small...in fact, the smaller the better! That's the whole point! If you have a blog, link-up below. If you don't blog, I'd love for you to participate by leaving a comment. Ready?

1. Happy Independence Day!
My little cuties on Independence Day. The top photo is Elijah (left) and Caleb (right). The bottom photos are Abby (left) and Ellie (right). They look like such big kids in these photos!

2. Sleeping Babies
There are just not enough moments like this! Ellie was worn out after a busy morning, and crashed on the couch. I picked her up, but she didn't wake up. I enjoyed a few precious minutes holding her before I insisted she wake up so that she wouldn't ruin her afternoon nap.

3. Reading by the Window
Sean and I love reading and hope to impart that to our kids. I found Elijah sitting by the front door, reading in the sunshine last week. Adorable!

4. Free Stuff!
I rarely talk much on the blog about another side project that I do for fun. I'm part of a couple of review sites. They send me full-size free products, and I try them and submit reviews and surveys on them. It's fun and lets me try new things on the market that I wouldn't otherwise get to try. Last week I got a box from Influenster that contained everything in the picture. I've been enjoying playing with them this week!

5. CSA Bag: Week 6
I think this is one of our better CSA weeks so far this year. This week, our bag had: six ears of sweet corn, 16 oz of plain yogurt, 6 oz of blackberries, 2 heads of garlic, 1 pound of pepperjack cheese, 2 cucumbers, 2 tomatoes, 1 lb of potatoes, 1 melon, and 1 lb of green beans. We will be eating well this week! I love blanching fresh green beans in hot water for a few minutes, and then pulling them out to saute with a bit of minced garlic and oil. Yummy!

Now it's your turn! What Little Things brightened up your week? Link up your post below (or leave a comment if you aren't a blogger) and make sure you come back next week to play again!

The link up rules are super simple!
1. Please add the button or a text link to your sidebar or post to share the fun that we are having over here!
2. Please visit at least one other blog linking up and leave some blog love. Maybe you will find someone else's "little thing" is exactly what you needed to read!
3. Please keep your linked post clean and respectful! Any links directing to offensive posts will be deleted.

  1. Ah! I'd love to do a CSA but I'm on the fence - do you think it's worth the $$??

    1. Honestly, you can get the produce cheaper by price matching at Walmart. However, we enjoy doing the CSA because the produce is much fresher, it tastes amazingly better, and it supports our local farmers. For us, it's worth paying a little more.

I'll add that I haven't been thrilled with how much we have gotten this year in each bag, but that's part of being in a CSA. You can only get what the farmer's can grow. All of the rain in the midwest early in the season damaged some of the crops. I still thinks it's worth it though.
