Welcome to The Little Things Thursday!!
If you are new to our link-up, we like to take a minute to look back on the little things that brightened our week. So often we get busy and forget all of the things that we enjoy as we go through our daily lives. This is an opportunity to stop, remember, and enjoy those things! Nothing is too small...in fact, the smaller the better! That's the whole point! If you have a blog, link-up below. If you don't blog, I'd love for you to participate by leaving a comment. Ready?
2. Out with the Sarahs
I always forget to take photos when I'm out with my friends! The Sarahs (I have two friends with the name Sarah) and I got together on Tuesday for lunch at one of my favorite places: Providence New American Kitchen! The company and the food were both wonderful, and a sweet lady from church volunteered (volunteered!!) to hang with five toddlers so that we could escape for a couple of hours. It's amazing how much something like this relaxes and encourages me!
3. This Makes Me Want to Move Downtown
Speaking of Providence New American Kitchen, they had a new two course lunch for $12 when we went in for lunch. They didn't have that when Sean and I went for our anniversary, so I was delighted to see that was an option! I had the Blue Note Salad and that amazing Turkey and Asparagus Sandwich that I had last time. *sigh* It's just so, so good! If you are local to Kansas City and haven't visited this place yet, you have to make an effort to get over there! If you take a minute to read my review (complete with photos!) of the restaurant, I promise you will want to run over there right now!
I got a ton of awesome stuff at the multiples consignment sale last weekend for the kiddos. I'm doing a whole post on the awesomeness, so you will just have to wait, but as a teaser, guess how much I paid for this Little Tykes picnic table??
5. Diet Size Favorite Candy
I joined another DietBet. Dang, I hate dieting so much, but I seem to have no self-control around sweets. So I started using my Zumba DVDs this week, and I'm trying not to be crazy with my food. I found these Hot Tamales individual serving packets on sale at the grocery store this week. It's one of my favorite candies, and I can eat a whole box without blinking (again with the no self-control). The tiny packets are severely limiting me, but it seems to be working so far. I still get my candy (all seven little pieces), but only about 50 calories worth.
6. CSA: Week 17
Week 17: We got a second bag again this week due to the generosity of one of Sean's coworkers. They are so sweet to give us their bag when they can't use it! This week, we have 4 heads of Bibb Lettuce, 8 cucumbers, 2 jars of Sweet Hot Dill Pickles, 6 oz of mushrooms, 6 pounds of apples, 6 acorn squash, 2 pounds of grapes, 6 bell peppers, 6 zucchini, and 2 pints of cream (not pictured because I forgot to include it). Next week is our last week as the growing season is coming to an end. I'll definitely miss the fresh produce during the winter months!
