This month, Tommy Nelson had Mercer Mayer books on their resource list. I haven't thought about those old computer games in so long, but seeing these books on the resource list brought back all sorts of memories!
So for me, this giveaway is a lot of fun! I'm giving away two books (with actual pages) that are both written by Mercer Mayer: It's True! and You Go First.
It's True is about Little Critter and how he learns to tell the truth. He spends most of the book telling almost the truth, but he keeps leaving little details out of what he tells other people. One day, he tells his whole school the almost truth and then realizes that he will be found out. Little Critter learns a very important lesson that telling a half-truth is the same as lying.
In You Go First, Little Critter decides that the best place to be is in the front of the line. He pushes friends out of the way, jumps in front of them, and demands that he go first. His friends get tired of him always having to be first, and tell him that. By the end of the book, something happens that causes Little Critter to realize that always needing to be first isn't what a good friend does. He changes the way he approaches his friends, and learns how to get along with them.
The books retail for $3.99 each, and can be found at Amazon.
