The Little Things Thursdays: #52

Welcome to The Little Things Thursday!!

If you are new to our link-up, we like to take a minute to look back on the little things that brightened our week. So often we get busy and forget all of the things that we enjoy as we go through our daily lives. This is an opportunity to stop, remember, and enjoy those things! Nothing is too small...in fact, the smaller the better! That's the whole point! If you have a blog, link-up below. If you don't blog, I'd love for you to participate by leaving a comment. Ready?

1. Little Table and Surviving Cupcakes
We went to cousin Toby's first birthday party last weekend. They had a little picnic table at the club for the kids to eat at. Aw, I think it's so cute to see them all sitting around a little table just their height!

They also did not demolish the table of cupcakes that was in the middle of the room and easily within reach. For that reason alone, the party was a success.

2. Braun Forehead Thermometer
I've wanted one of these forehead thermometers since we had kids. We've been using the cheapo plastic thermometers that they gave us in the NICU. They work just fine, but they also take f-o-r-e-v-e-r to register the temperature. And the kids hate it, especially when they are sick, which is every time I use it. Influenster offered to send me a Braun Forehead Thermometer as part of their product review program. Heck yes! Send that sucker right over! The kids think it is awesome, and it reads temperatures in 3 seconds. In fact, Elijah tried to take his temperature repeatedly, so I had to put it up high. This is probably the best Influenster product that I've been sent to review. Not that I'm looking forward to our next bout of illness, but I'm so happy that taking their temperatures will be easier now. Plus, I can check their temps while they are asleep without having to wake them up and take their sleeper off to get to their underarm. Anything that makes my mommy duties easier is a winner in my book!

3. Shoe Wearing Monsters
I was cooking dinner the other night, and turned around to find two little shoes in the middle of the kitchen floor. Ellie had propped her two little squishy monsters in them because they wanted a turn wearing her shoes. Oh goodness, it was so adorable! Of course, the second I whipped out my camera, she scurried over to grab them. I had to hold her off for a moment so that I could snap the photo above.

4. Tomorrow!!
As of tomorrow evening (Thursday), Sean will be off of work for two weeks!! I'm so, so, so excited! Seriously, I've been counting down the days. I can't wait until he walks in the door tomorrow evening! Yay!!

  1. Those shoe monsters are too cute! I love what kids come up with. A temperature in 3 seconds! Holy shamoly! Can you use them on babies too? I remember those horrible days of rectal thermometers. It made both me and Brady cry. This is a wonderful invention.

  2. I love the shoe monsters!! It is adorable what little kids do with their imaginations. The little thing that made my week this week so far is snuggling with my little guy. Now if only I can get the bigger kid to give me snuggles too!
