The Little Things Thursdays: #62

Welcome to The Little Things Thursday!!

If you are new to our link-up, we like to take a minute to look back on the little things that brightened our week. So often we get busy and forget all of the things that we enjoy as we go through our daily lives. This is an opportunity to stop, remember, and enjoy those things! Nothing is too small...in fact, the smaller the better! That's the whole point! If you have a blog, link-up below. If you don't blog, I'd love for you to participate by leaving a comment. Ready?

1. How Quads Eat Crackers
I bet you didn't know that our quadruplets have a special way of eating crackers.
The girls eat their crackers together. They often swap crackers back and forth between their plates, with Ellie managing the process. Sometimes, she will even help Abby eat her crackers. Since Abby can never get enough crackers, she's great with that! In fact, if Ellie insists on sharing her crackers like that, Abby often ends up with more.
Elijah is a stacker. He stacks anywhere from 3-5 crackers on top of each other and takes a bite out of the whole stack. Ask me how many crumbs end up on the floor when he uses his method...
Caleb's method is pretty simple. He eats what I put on his plate. Although he eats one cracker at a time, he is known to take bites out of multiple crackers before finishing all of one. But, all in all, it's a pretty normal way of approaching crackers.

And now you know how it works at our house! :)

2. Laundry Just Got Easier
For the last couple of months, we've been losing power in our laundry room, furnace room, and on one wall of our living room. It's been maddening, but we've worked around it by using an extension cord upstairs, and becoming proficient at doing the laundry in the dark. Still, it wasn't uncommon to mis-sort a load or two. Today, we *finally* got it fixed! I ran laundry this afternoon with the lights on! Whoohoo! And it was only $85 to fix. Praise God for that!

3. A Special Kiss
Oh, friends! This is really so exciting!

Yesterday, I laid on the couch all morning. The stomach flu hit me hard, but mommies don't get sick days. So I was trying not to throw up and praying the kids would be happy with movies all morning, when Caleb came over to see me. I didn't know what he was doing at first, but he leaned over and kissed me!

Caleb gave me a kiss! Three kisses actually!

After 3 years of waiting, Caleb finally decided to give me a kiss. It was the highest point in my otherwise, very crappy (pun intended) day.

The only downside? He chose the day I was puking my guts out to kiss me on my lips. Now that we have the kissing down, we need to work on timing.

4. Ellie and Her Grapes
I have a new story about this munchkin every week. She is such a funny kid!

This week, we gave the kids some red balls (a.k.a. red grapes) with their dinner. They thought it was so fun to be eating balls (oh to be 3 yrs old again!), and we seemed to go through quite a few of them during the meal. Ellie especially kept asking for more, which was surprising for her.

Then we got her down and went to clean up.
Uh huh. Busted!

Now it's your turn! What Little Things brightened up your week? Link up your post below (or leave a comment if you aren't a blogger) and make sure you come back next week to play again!

  2. Funny how they all have different ways of eating their crackers; the flu is the worst! Hope you are feeling better today and that Caleb doesn't get sick from kissing you. I can see Ellie had a great time with the grapes; I like grapes too!

  4. Oh the milestones that you guys seem to have accomplished last week. Better late than never I suppose. Timing and actually eating the grapes can be worked on.
