The Little Things Thursdays: #63

This post may contain affiliate links. Thank you for supporting our family and blog!

Welcome to The Little Things Thursday!!

If you are new to our link-up, we like to take a minute to look back on the little things that brightened our week. So often we get busy and forget all of the things that we enjoy as we go through our daily lives. This is an opportunity to stop, remember, and enjoy those things! Nothing is too small...in fact, the smaller the better! That's the whole point! If you have a blog, link-up below. If you don't blog, I'd love for you to participate by leaving a comment. Ready?

1. We {Finally} Made it to Preschool!
We did it! We finally made it to preschool. After snow days and stomach flu days last week, we managed to roll into to school on time on Monday. The photo above was taken as we pulled out of the driveway. It's just a teaser though! I'm hoping to have a full recap post of our first day very soon. Hopefully tomorrow!

2. Happy Birthday, Sean!
This week we celebrated Sean's birthday. 35 years old, and he hasn't dropped from exhaustion yet! That's saying something for a dad of quadruplets! Happy birthday, Babe! (The shirt is from his parents. Is he good looking or what?)

3. Twice Clothes: Love This Place!
This was my big discovery this week! Twice Clothing ran a deal where people could sign up and get $10 off of their purchase plus free shipping. They are all high end name brand clothes that normally I wouldn't be able to afford, so I was excited to get them from an online consignment sale shop and save majorly! For example, the two shirts on the left are from New York & Company. The green shirt retailed for $26 and the pink shirt for $40. The two shirts on the left are from Anne Taylor Loft (love!). Both the dark purple and dark red shirts retailed for $31 each. I only paid $13 or $14 for each of them! And then once I applied all of my credits and discounts, my out of pocket was less than $15 total for all four shirts.

My shirts all came in the mail today, and they are in perfect condition! I will for sure be buying from this site in the future! Suddenly, those really nice name brand clothes are affordable!

If you want $10 to spend for free on this site (and yes, they do have tops for less than $10!), you can click HERE and sign up. They will automatically apply the $10 discount when you check out. I'd love for you to use my referral link because then I can continue to update my spring/summer wardrobe with referral credits. :)

4. Photography Improvements
I've been slowly but steadily improving my photography skills over the last couple of years. I shudder when I look back at some of the first recipe posts I did (like this delicious, but horribly photographed Homemade Chocolate Chip Bagel Recipe), but hey, you have to start somewhere. It takes an unbelievable amount of time to bake, plate, create a setting, wait for the right lighting, and take decent photos. I'm still not great at it, but I've come a long way. It may not seem like a big deal on your side of the screen, but after I've spent hours working on a post like The Bird's Nest Cupcakes, pretty pictures make me happy! Now, I just need to figure out how to use some of the settings on my camera other than point and shoot. I have a Canon T3i and literally only know how to snap a frame. That's just wrong.

5. Me Time
I'm not quite to the end of the first week, and I can safely say...I LOVE preschool! The kids come home tired, take awesome naps, don't get out of bed as much at night, and I'm getting so much done. Two hours is HUGE! It's like having a mini vacation everyday even though I'm currently in crunch time prepping for our multiples consignment sale.

I'll also add....whoa. It is bizarre being in a quiet, empty house!

Now it's your turn! What Little Things brightened up your week? Link up your post below (or leave a comment if you aren't a blogger) and make sure you come back next week to play again!

The link up rules are super simple!
1. Please add the button or a text link to your sidebar or post to share the fun that we are having over here!
2. Please visit at least one other blog linking up and leave some blog love. Maybe you will find someone else's "little thing" is exactly what you needed to read!

  3. I tried your bagel recipe today. We made plain, cinnamon chip and chocolate chip (double batch because I want to try to freeze some). Turned out great. I just took them out of the oven and cut a cinnamon chip one and I can't keep the kids away (3 and 18m). Thanks for posting your recipe with easy to follow directions

  4. You're pictures look terrific! I just have a point and shoot--but one day! However, I still don't know how to do everything on the point and shoot. I agree that pictures can take a lot of time. I'm sure you are getting tons in those two hours. I don't know how you get it all done!

  5. honestly, is there such a thing as a bad picture of a cupcake? LOL
it is a great shot and they are adorable cupcakes too.

2 hours per day is unbelievable amount of time when you previously had ZERO - isn't it?
I'm amazed at how much I can get done when the house is empty and quiet.

  6. So excited that you posted the link for Twice Clothing. As a woman on a budget who's currently down 2 sizes, none of my clothes fit right and buying all new is just crazy. I will definitely be checking that out, thank you.

Practice makes perfect...and enjoy the free hours you have. Even if it's to do absolutely nothing because it won't last forever.
