The Little Things Thursdays: #66

This post may contain affiliate links. Thank you for supporting our family and blog!

Welcome to The Little Things Thursday!!

If you are new to our link-up, we like to take a minute to look back on the little things that brightened our week. So often we get busy and forget all of the things that we enjoy as we go through our daily lives. This is an opportunity to stop, remember, and enjoy those things! Nothing is too small...in fact, the smaller the better! That's the whole point! If you have a blog, link-up below. If you don't blog, I'd love for you to participate by leaving a comment. Ready?

1. Big Kid Pillows
Our kiddos have been using small toddler pillows that a lady from church made specially for them. They love the pillows, but a couple of the kids wanted bigger ones. We ended up getting them "big kid pillows" from the store this week. They all like them...but they insist on keeping their toddler pillows in their bed too! Sean's comment on seeing the pillows, "They are as big as the kids!"

2. Backpacks
I've had SO many questions about where I found the kids' backpacks for school, and I keep forgetting to give you all the link! They are adorable, aren't they? The kids LOVE them (don't let Abby fool you!) These are the Stephen Joseph Sidekicks Backpacks. You can find them on Amazon, but I suggest you go through Kozy Kidz Boutique on Etsy instead. The seller charges the exact same amount and it comes with personalization for free! She's super sweet and quick. I love the way they turned out! (This isn't an affiliate link, but if you end up ordering one, you can tell her that the quad mom referred you. :) )

Our kids have the Doggy, Butterfly, Monkey, and Pink Owl!

3. Has Anyone Seen Ellie?
Caleb came to visit us in the middle of the night earlier this week (this happens WAY too much), and Sean noticed that his diaper was super full. He decided to take him downstairs to change him since it was only 2:30am, and he didn't think it would hold a few more hours worth of pee.

When he flipped on the lamp, he found this little girl sound asleep on the couch. Sean and I had gone to bed at about midnight that night, and Ellie was *still* awake and talking about how it was "dark!" We think she moved downstairs to the couch since the street light gives more light into the living room. She didn't wake up until he picked her up to move her back to her room. Let's just say she wasn't very happy being moved from her comfy spot on the couch.

4. Kansas City Google Fiber is HERE!!
How long ago did they announce Google Fiber was coming to Kansas City? I don't know, but I DO know that it's been more than a year, and Sean has excitedly watched for news of it reaching our area. It is finally here! We've officially registered, have our bunny yard sign, two tshirts, and have been watching the Google Fiber trucks rolling through the neighborhood. Whoop! Our internet is about to get REALLY fast!

5. Hail Storm

Perhaps our biggest moment of the week (and also the most expensive one) was when this hail storm hit. I was about 7 minutes from home, helping to set up our bi-annual multiples sale, but this same storm hit our house a few minutes later. It totaled our roof, damaged our window casings and gutters, and ruined the shutters on the front of our house. Needless to say, we get to have a brand new roof put on! Actually, it's not so bad, because our good friends own a roofing business, Morton Roofing. We love this family! Although I wish our roof didn't have holes through three layers of shingles (thank you previous owners), we are happy that we at least have a roofing company of integrity to work with. Sometimes you just never know what kind of contractors you will end up with, ya know? Very happy to feel safe and confident with these guys!

Now I just have to pick a new roof color! Suggestions???

  3. Hi, Rebecca
Just stopping by for the first time to visit! Looking forward to meeting you tomorrow at the St. Louis Conference. With four 3 year olds, you may be looking forward to a day off. They are so adorable!!! I can't imagine the craziness and fun in your household. I'm following/liking any of your social media I may have missed earlier.

  4. oh my goodness - I will not complain about my snow anymore. there might be some on my roof - but it hasn't done any damage.
love the big pillows! My kids have those huge body pillows that they hug. I don't blame them - they are super comfy.

  5. Staying in bed? What's that? Kids can be so sneaky sometimes it's scary. But luckily your kids don't wander too far. :) As a pillow person, I can see their desire for "big kid pillows." I have 5 in my bed, 3 of which I use regularly for just myself!
