Little Things Thursdays: #70

This post may contain affiliate links. Thank you for supporting our family and blog!

Welcome to The Little Things Thursday!!

If you are new to our link-up, we like to take a minute to look back on the little things that brightened our week. So often we get busy and forget all of the things that we enjoy as we go through our daily lives. This is an opportunity to stop, remember, and enjoy those things! Nothing is too small...in fact, the smaller the better! That's the whole point! If you have a blog, link-up below. If you don't blog, I'd love for you to participate by leaving a comment. Ready?

1. Preschool Ice Cream Social Night
Clockwise: Elijah and his ice cream, Ellie and Miss Jessica (her teacher), Abby and Ellie drawing with chalk, and Caleb and Daddy playing with kinetic sand

This last week, the kids' school invited all of the parents to a special ice cream social night. They had lots of learning activities for the kids and an obstacle course set up in the gym. Our little ones were so excited to get to go to school TWICE in one day! And then, of course, once ice cream was added to the picture, it got even better. We were also entered in a drawing for a new toy....and won! We are now the very proud, very loud owners of a Melissa & Doug Band Box, full of lots of instruments!

2. Abby's Handmade "Pincess Necklace"
Last week, I posted a photo of Ellie's handmade necklace. Well the day after I posted that, Abby came home with her own handmade necklace! It's her "Pincess Necklace." We are big into princesses right now!

3. The Girls' First Haircuts
Mommy and Abby

Mommy and Ellie

I gave the boys haircuts this weekend because they were looking pretty shaggy. I've never cut the girls' hair before because they haven't needed it. However, this time, they both asked for their own haircuts. Now, I *was* planning on never trying to cut their hair. Since it is long, and I don't have any real haircut training, I was planning on taking them somewhere. But they wanted to have haircuts so badly that I decided to try giving them a trim. It actually turned out surprisingly well, and their hair looks better now that it's (more) even. Unfortunately though, I didn't do it well enough for Ellie. Apparently when she asked for a haircut, she meant that she wanted me to use the buzzer like I do on the boys. Mommy trimming up the ends wasn't a *real* haircut. In case you are wondering, I won that argument.

(and I also apparently stick my tongue out when I am concentrating really hard. All of the haircut photos have my tongue hanging out. Lol!)

4. Quad Cuddles
Yep, it's another photo of Caleb and Abby asleep in her bed! I can never get over how precious it is to see my kiddos finding comfort by being with each other. They may not seek each other out much during the day, but when it comes to nap time and bedtime, they love snuggling up together for sleep. So precious.

5. Morning Snuggles
Caleb, Mommy, and Elijah
We seem to find a lot of extra bodies in our bed in the mornings. Our alarms often wake the kids up, and they like to come get a few minutes with us before the day starts. These two little boys climbed into bed with me one morning earlier this week.

6. Preschool Bird Project Wrap-Up
Clockwise: Ellie and her bird creations, Miss Jessica during story time, Waiting with Caleb, Abby, and Ellie for Elijah to finish in his classroom at the end of the day

Ellie's class has been working on a bird project for the last couple of months. Today they had the end of their unit wrap-up...which I forgot about until I was in the drop off line. Oops! Happily, I still managed to get to school on time for the parent portion of the day. Ellie was proud to show off her bird creations and have Mommy join her for circle time. We even got to go to the library together to pick out a book to read!

7. Like Father, Like Son
Daddy and Caleb

This week, Caleb has really started to show how much he wants to be like his Daddy. It is so sweet to watch him copy everything Sean does and try his hardest to be helpful. We were moving some decorative rocks in the backyard, and Caleb got right in there and started helping Daddy load the heavy rocks in the wheelbarrow. He also helped carry items from the garage to the storage shed, carefully following right behind his Daddy. And then at lunch yesterday, since Daddy was dipping his chips, Caleb had to as well. I love seeing him take after such a good role model!

8. Because Sometimes, It's More Fun to Wear Your Training Pants on Your Head
Abby and Ellie

Aunt Sarah passed on some plastic training pants to us for use while potty training. The girls think that they are awesome! Ellie likes to pull hers on over her clothes, but Abby likes to wear hers on her head. Hmm...maybe we aren't ready to potty train yet. It's like they say in real estate: Location, location, location.

9. Quad Mama Support
Some of my dearest friends on earth are women I've never even met. The last few weeks have been rough, and I've felt kind of discouraged and worn out. One of my quad mama friends in California sent me this surprise in the mail today. It's a mug that says, "I make people 4 at a time. What's your super power? #QuadMama." She included a sweet card in the box letting me know that she is praying for me. Somedays, it's nice to know that someone else gets everything you are going through. Quad Mama support can't be beat!

Believe it or not, this isn't even everything from this week! But I'm exhausted, so I think I'm going to stop here. I may include a few more from this week in next week's Little Things Thursday post. Meanwhile, make sure you comment below with something that made YOU smile this week!
