14 Week Doctor's Visit and A Special Request

I had my last doctor’s appointment last Tuesday, and everything looked really good! All four babies have good heartbeats and are continuing to grow at the same rate. Happy news to us! The more exciting appointment will be our next one in December. At that appointment, they will be doing in-depth sonograms on each of the babies. They said it can take up to 45 minutes to count each baby’s heart chambers and bones. We are supposed to bring food and water because they are going to have to stop halfway through in order to give me a chance to sit-up, go to the bathroom, and eat something. Very intense! J The best part though is that they are going to try to figure out the genders of babies if they are cooperating!! People have asked if we want to know what we are having. We’ve both had quite enough of a surprise so far, so we are excited to find out the genders before they actually arrive!

With the help of Sean’s parents, we were able to move most of my hobby stuff back to my parents’ house. I knew I had a couple of space-swallowing hobbies (scrapbooking and Civil War reenacting) but I didn’t realize just how much space they took up until we started moving them. Yikes! Hopefully someday I’ll have time to pick them back up again.

Saturday was incredibly nice for both of us. It was one of the best days I’ve had since becoming pregnant. I actually felt almost normal. I’d forgotten what “normal” felt like. J We were able to spend some time with two sets of good friends (you know who you are!) and Sean and I had some quality time together also. Best of all, we did nothing baby related! We’ve been on a mission to get the house in order before I go on bed rest and just needed a day off. It was wonderful!

~A Special Request~

I’ve been thinking about an idea that a friend suggested to me a few weeks ago. She told me that she is praying specifically for the weakest baby everyday since God knows which one that is even when we don’t. She went on to suggest that we ask other people to pray for a specific baby as well. So I thought I’d see if any of you would be willing to commit to pray specifically for baby A, B, C, or D through the rest of the pregnancy and their time in the NICU. We don’t know what the genders are or what each of the kids will struggle with over the next few months, but we know that prayer is going to be a major factor in the outcome. So if you are willing to join Team A, B, C, or D, please leave a comment and let us know which team you specifically want to join. As everything moves along, we will start to get more baby-specific information which we will put on the blog. We would love it if there was a team for each baby that we can call on to surround them with prayer!

  14. I will be praying for baby B, and also I will be praying the babies won't be in the NICU. I know the doctors believe it will be a necessity but I believe my God is bigger than the doctors so lets pray for four healthy babies who surpass all expectations.

  25. The idea of having prayer teams for each baby is an excellent one. I would love to be part of Team C and will look forward to knowing the gender, if it's possible, as well as the name when that happens.

It sounds like all the babies are doing well which is very good and I know encouraging for you.

Will be praying for baby C as well as both of you.
