The Little Things Thursdays: #59

Welcome to The Little Things Thursday!!

If you are new to our link-up, we like to take a minute to look back on the little things that brightened our week. So often we get busy and forget all of the things that we enjoy as we go through our daily lives. This is an opportunity to stop, remember, and enjoy those things! Nothing is too small...in fact, the smaller the better! That's the whole point! If you have a blog, link-up below. If you don't blog, I'd love for you to participate by leaving a comment. Ready?

1. How Was Our Week?
Nobody else fell or passed out in the last week! Yeehaw! Of course, Sean slid into a snowbank, but we would have been bored if nothing had happened. Right?

Update on my leg: After my second fall, I was concerned that I had further damaged the bone. X-rays on Friday showed that the bone looked the same (yay!). I asked the doctor why I was in so much pain, and he said it was most likely soft tissue damage and muscle tears that won't show up on an x-ray. I'll take that over a broken bone any day of the week!

But seriously, we are praising God for a leg that is continuing to heal, four kids who are over their colds, a husband who is on his way to feeling better, and a minivan with no damage once it was dug back out of the snow. Some people wonder where God is when life gets crappy, but we can't help but see His hand in our lives through our circumstances.

2. Ellie Sleeping Again...
Last week, I posted a photo of Ellie sleeping on the couch. I snapped this one this week. I hate seeing my babies sick, but they sure do fall asleep in cute positions when they are!

3. So Pitiful
Speaking of Ellie, is this hilarious or what? I caught her playing with something she shouldn't. She was very offended when I took it and put it up. It is so hard not to giggle when this is the response!

4. Sally Hanson Complete Salon Manicure Nail Polish
Okay, I'll just say it. Until this week, nail polish has just been...well, nail polish. I like keeping my toes painted, but didn't have a favorite type and really didn't think I ever would. But, as you know, I occasionally get product review items in the mail, and this time it was the Sally Hanson Complete Salon Manicure Nail Polish. It came right before I broke my leg, so it's just been sitting on the counter, but I finally had a chance to try it this week. And...I. Love. It! The bottom coat, top coat, deep color, nail strengthener, and a couple of other things are all in a single coat. Plus, it has a flat brush! Last night, I was telling a couple of friends about how excited I was to have a flat brush, and they gave me a weird look. I thought this was a new thing, but maybe it's been around for awhile? Anyway, flat brushes are where it's at! It took about 4 minutes to paint my toes with this polish. No waiting for coats to dry, and the flat brush made the color go on perfectly without getting all over the place. And that is the story of how I ended up having a favorite nail polish without looking for one.

5. Infant Car Seats
This cracks me up! One of my good friends stopped by this week to help me for a few hours. Her baby's car seat suddenly became the best toy in the entire room! Don't worry, we pulled the baby out from under my kiddos pretty quickly. ;)
