Pampers Baby Dry Diapers Giveaway!

This review was made possible by Double Duty Divas and Pampers. I was provided the featured product free of charge to facilitate my review, but all opinions are 100% mine."
how to get free diapers
The kids stayed up a little late last night since we were out showing the grandparents their Halloween costumes. (Stay tuned for those photos! The kids were so cute!) Because of our late bedtime, I knew they would be sleeping in this morning, so I thought it would be a good time to try some new diapers.

Pampers just revamped their Baby Dry line making them 15% more absorbent with three layers of absorbency rather than two layers like regular diapers. As a mom, my number one requirement for diapers is that my kids don't wake up in the morning with leaks. I have enough to do without washing PJs and sheets every single day. And laundry is my least favorite chore, so I really try to avoid it if I can.

My kids normally wear size 5 diapers to bed, which is a size larger than they wear during the day. I do that so that they get the extra absorbency overnight. But the package of Pampers Baby Dry Diapers that came in the mail was size 4. I decided to let them try them overnight anyway, and happily, the kids were still dry this morning! There are always more diapers per package in the smaller sizes, so saving money and not having to do more laundry? Yes!

The other thing that I get to deal with as a mom is the Daylight Savings sleep transition. Uh...can we do away with it already, please?!Over half of moms feel that their kids' sleep patterns are disrupted when Daylight Savings ends. I understand why they put it in place originally, but now it's just unnecessarily mean to do to parents of little kids.

With Daylight Savings coming on Sunday, I'm trying to make this as easy as possible on our family. I've been doing some reading on tips to make the transition easier, and found a few good ideas from Kim West who is a sleep expert:
  • Slowly adjust bedtime and naptimes an hour earlier, by moving both back by 15 minutes per day instead of all at once.
  • Use a sound machine and blackout curtains in their room.
  • Keep the bedtime/naptime routine the same as before.
This lady actually has a whole slew of tips, and will be hosting a Twitter party on November 7th, 9pm EST. If you'd like to join them for that chat, just head over to RSVP. There will be several gift cards (including an AMEX card for $500!), Pampers products, and books by Kim West that will be given out to attendees.

Between the new and improved Pampers Baby Dry Diapers and the sleep tips, we should be in good shape!

  1. :-) I'm the mother of a one-month-old, so sleeping through the night is a distant thought...but one thing that helps my squishy sleep more at night is to make sure she has a nice full feeding before bed.

  2. For babies- swaddling. All of my babies have slept better swaddled. Of course none of my boys slept through the night until at least a year old lol, but my baby girl sleeps through the night. Honestly did nothing different with her, she just is a better sleeper.

  3. My boys are 4, so sleeping through the night isn't a problem unless they're sick. However, I do remember those early days so well! We used a CD of rain falling to keep them asleep. We also used Johnson's Baby Bedtime Bath body wash when we bathed them in the evening. It says it's clinically proved to help baby sleep better. I honestly don't know if it helped, but with twins, I was willing to try anything to keep them sleeping longer! ;) I definitely felt like having full tummies helped our babies sleep longer too. (By the way, I am entering this contest to win diapers for our baby on the way, not for my 4-year olds! ;)

  12. I read books and turn off/take away electronics (television, ereader). I think that it is the sound of my voice. I find the book reading hard to do with two so I read to them one at a time so this really does not work for four children or you will be reading books for 2 hours!

  16. I hate to say this, but I think you're moving them the wrong direction. You move them earlier in the Spring and later in the Fall. My kids normally go to bed at 8pm and wake at 7am. Last night they went to bed at 9pm (tomorrow's 8pm) and woke at 8am (tomorrow's 7am).

  17. We follow a routine, and I put my baby down drowsy but awake. It works great!

  20. The best advise is consistency and to not give in to crying.

    ReplyDelete
  21. tylenol....lol, no but really, right now it is because we're teething! But for regular sleepless nights, make sure they've been fed sufficiently, have a diaper change right before bed (or go potty if they're that old), and check room temperatures so they're not too hot or cold.

    ReplyDelete
  22. When my boys were babies, we would put them in a swing and this lulled them to sleep. We would then move them to their bed.

  23. Best advice - set up a routine!

  28. Don't run into the childs room everytime they fuss. Give them time to settle themselves.

    ReplyDelete
  29. I let them cry it out and get used to it. But my kids weren't that bad that it was a problem.

    ReplyDelete
  30. My best advice is to make sure they aren't over tired and they tend to sleep longer. I think a warm bath and lavender lotion before bed helps as well!

  31. Find out what their preferred sleeping position is!

  32. Well, Im no expert. I didnt read any of those baby sleep books....but I have 4 children, so I guess that counts for something! My first three were boys and great sleepers. I always had an established nighttime routine, they were swaddled, nursed and then laid down to bed. Baby number 4 is our little girly girl. She is 9 months and JUST starting to "sort of" sleep through the night. I do everything the same, but....it is what it is! Whenever I hear my friends say "oh my baby slept through the night at 3 weeks old" yadda yadda...im glad for them, because as momma's we NEED sleep---but it does make me a bit irritated and wondering what Im doing wrong! I think that some babies are just better sleepers than others....so dont get too discouraged if you're little one isnt sleeping through the night. take it day by day {and take naps if possible!}

  38. At 18 months, my twins have been sleeping through the night for a while. BUT there seens to be some regression that occurrs at this age. We found that sticking with our routine and established bed time has been key. Also, we've learned that there is a direct link between good naps and a good night's sleep. Some tweeking to our daytime nap time has also helped get us back on track! Patience is a huge part in all of this as well! As I keep reminding myself as with any phase or tansition...this to shall pass!!

    ReplyDelete
  39. I wish they would do away with daylight savings time too! I read on Twitter today that it was invented to save money but actually increases residential energy use instead... Keeping our routine the same helps, and we also use white noise. A definite must when we have a 4-year-old boy in a room next to 1-year-old twins.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Having a routine helps and consistency is definitely a must. I also read to her every night.

  51. Since every child is different, the best way I can get my son to sleep is read to him and/or play a game with him before going to bed. As for my daughter, she likes to be cuddled to sleep.
