The Top 13 Posts from 2013

It's always fun for me to go back at the end of the year to see what the most popular posts were.  It lets me know what you like to read, and I like to re-read them myself. Sometimes I've forgotten that I even wrote a post in the first place!

If you'd like to read one of the posts below, just click the title! And if you'd like to pin one of the posts (thank you!), you can just hover over the photo, and the Pinterest icon will pop up. Click that, and pin away!

So without further ado, here are the Top 13 Posts from 2013!

13. How to Organize an Open Pantry
We don't have a pantry in our kitchen, so everything is out in the open. I finally completely overhauled our open pantry last January, and suddenly, our kitchen felt twice as big! The before photos are kind of scary, but the finished product made my Type A self very happy!

12. Triplets?? Quadruplets??? How Many Babies Are You Having???
I was surprised to see this one on the list, but I guess it makes sense! This was the very first post that I ever wrote, announcing that we were pregnant with lots of babies on the way!

11. How to Make Your Own Personalized T-Shirt
I think this may have been the first craft tutorial that I posted, and it proved to be popular! Personalized shirts can be costly, but this tutorial makes it easy and cheap! And, the shirts wash well in the washer, which is a nice perk!

10. 5 Things I Don't Know As a Multiples Mom
things I should know if having twins, triplets, quadruplets
I may know a little about raising quadruplets, but that means I don't know a lot about other things. Namely, raising singletons and all the things that go with that. What you take for granted, I probably find really confusing. It's an interesting list of things that I can't wrap my mind around. Kudos to you singleton Mamas!

9. Parent's Choice Overnight Diapers Review
Really? A diaper review made it in the top 10? I wasn't expecting that at all, but apparently, people want to know if Walmart brand diapers really work since they are some of the most inexpensive options on the market. Click through to hear my thoughts on them!

8. 2013 Summer Bucket List
Summer Bucket List for kids
We worked on our first Summer Bucket List last year, and have plans to do it again this year! This post is our master list with links to the posts that talk about which ones we completed.

7. Why I Don't Agree With the Modesty Argument
This one is a hot topic in Christian circles, seemed to ruffle a few feathers when I published it. At the same time, it was shared numerous times on FaceBook and Pinterest as evidenced by it making it to the 7th slot. It's well worth the read for parents of girls AND boys.

6. How NOT to Train Up a Child
Michael and Debi Pearl Review Parenting Book
Speaking of ruffling feathers, this book ruffled mine. It's a dangerous book and one that caused me a bit of anxiety as I worked my way through it and wrote a point by point examination of its suggestions. If you have ever read this book or are thinking about reading it, I encourage you to read this post. It's not just my opinion. I let the book speak for itself throughout the article.

5. Quad Update: How Are We Doing?
This was a super l-o-n-g post about how our kids have progressed since being discharged from the NICU. I've written others since then, and I'm duee to write another update, but this is definitely a comprehensive overview of their medical and physical developments.

4. {Recipe} Mini Chicken Pot Pies
These tasty little pies are quick and easy to put together! The filling can also easily be replaced with other ingredients...apple pie, anyone?

3. Mommy Tip: Just Bring the Feet
Imagine my surprise when my brother told me that BuzzFeed picked up this post! I threw this post together on a whim after several moms stopped me at a consignment sale to ask what I was doing. A piece of paper and a marker are all you need to streamline shoe shopping for your family!

2. {Recipe} Homemade Hot Pockets
homemade ham and cheese hot pockets recipe
We LOVE this recipe at our house! And the filling options are endless! At 300-ish calories per pocket, they also make for great portion control! I make up 5 or 6 varieties at a time, and freeze them for quick meals.

1. How to Make a Homemade Tutu Skirt
Easy tutu skirt. no sewing.
And the #1 most popular post of the year is "How to Make a Tutu Skirt!" I love the adorableness of tutu skirts, but I can't sew to save my life. So I came up with a way to make a tutu skirt that requires NO sewing and is put together entirely with tying knots. Cheap, easy, and no skill set required! With the number of hits this post got in September and October, I'm guessing there were quite a few little girls running around with tutu skirts on for Halloween. But they also work well for birthdays, Christmas, and the dress up trunk!

Whew! What a year! Thank you for reading along with us!

Out of curiosity, did you have a favorite post in 2013??
